The Cass River Greenway Committee is active 12 months a year! Join us for our meetings, cleanup days, or other events taking place in the Watershed and on our beautiful river! Visit often to see new events.
Dates TBD Canoe the Cass with Tom Lounsbury
Join Tom Lounsbury (a well-known outdoors writer, host of his weekly outdoors radio show, and Cass City area resident) for a paddling trip down the beautiful Cass River. This multi-day event will start in Cass City and travel the entire length of the Cass River, through the Shiawassee Wildlife Refuge and ending on the Saginaw River at Wickes Park in Saginaw.
More details will be posted when plans firm up.
June 23 7th Annual Cass River Paddle & Swim
Area swimmers and paddlers are invited to join in the camaraderie for the 7th annual event. Kayaks, canoes and paddle boards should meet at the Tuscola Park Launch and depart at 9:00 am (or meet at the Downtown Vassar Launch and depart at 7:00 am). Swimmers will depart from the 9000 block of Ormes Road.
Pontoons will assist and escort the swimmers downstream to Heritage Park in Frankenmuth. Wet suits are recommended for swimmers.

August 4 & 5 The Tri Bavaria Triathlon
Frankenmuth hosts one of the region's best triathlons, featuring a variety of races to suit all age groups and skill levels. The races are held in the heart of Frankenmuth and showcase all that makes Frankenmuth the true Michigan gem that it is. Something for the entire family awaits you.

August 17 - 19 The Great Lakes Rendezvous
The Great Lakes Historical and Educational Association will be holding their 36th annual rendezvous at Davis Park in Bridgeport Township.

August 18 10th Annual Cass River Clean Up - Cass City
The Village of Cass City and the Cass River Greenway will be hosting the 10th annual Cass River Clean Up on Saturday morning, August 18.
The clean up crew will gather at Kappan Tree Service, 2799 Hurds Corner Road, Cass City between 8:00 and 8:30 am, with the clean up starting at 9:00 am. A sack breakfast will be provided to all volunteers. The crew will clean approximately 4 miles of river, upstream and downstream of the Kappan location. We will be done with the river clean up work by noon.
Volunteers need to wear old clothing, hats, and boots, waders or hip boots. Sunscreen and insect repellent is recommended. If you have a life vest you are encouraged to bring it as we will be using canoes.
