The Cass River Greenway Committee is active 12 months a year!  

Join us for our meetings, cleanup days, or other events taking place in the Watershed and on our beautiful river! Visit often to see new events!

​Free Fishing Weekend


All fishing license fees will be waived for two days.  Residents and out-of-State visitors may enjoy fishing on both inland and Great Lakes’ waters for all species of fish.  All fishing regulations will still apply.

Annual Paddle and Swim 

Area swimmers and paddlers are invited to join in the camaraderie for the annual event.  Kayaks, canoes and paddleboards should meet at the Tuscola Park Launch and depart at 9:30 am or meet at the Downtown Vassar Launch and depart at 7:00 am.  Swimmers will depart from the 9000 block of Ormes Road at 9:00 am.

Pontoons will assist and escort the swimmers downstream to Heritage Park in Frankenmuth.  Wet suits are recommended for swimmers.

​The Great Lakes Rendezvous 
​

The Great Lakes Historical and Educational Association will be hosting their  Annual Great Lakes Rendezvous at Davis Park, 6206 Dixie Highway, Bridgeport, MI.  The event features 1760s French and Indian War Encampments, Muzzleloader and Historic Craftsmen Demonstrations, Canoe Activities and various costume displays.  Visit www.greatlakeshea.weebly.com for more information or email greatlakeshistorical@yahoo.com.

Lake Sturgeon Release
​

The Michigan DNR and US Fish & Wildlife Service have announce preliminary plans for the two releases of Great Lakes Sturgeon into the Cass River (one of four Saginaw Bay Watershed Rivers to receive sturgeon).  The releases will take place downstream of the rock ramp in downtown Frankenmuth. Look for more details to follow.
